Former President of Ghana and the National Democratic Congress' flag-bearer in the 2020 general election John Dramani Mahama have asked
Ghanaians to use the celebration of year's Easter festivities to forgive one another and move
on in unity.
In his Easter message published on Good Friday, the former President
and his wife in encouraging Ghanaians to let go of any grudge they hold against their neighbors citing the story of Jesus Christ's journey to his crucifixion as the bases for his message.
In his message to fellow Ghanaians, President Mahama whose reign as Ghana's president saw a massive improvement in Ghana's infrastructure sector wrote;
" They whipped Him. They spat on Him. They mocked Him. They treated Him like a criminal. Drained of all strength, they forced Him to carry a heavy cross. And then although He had committed no crime, they crucified Him", he wrote.
"But bloodied and disgraced on the cross at Calvary, He, out of a pure heart, forgave them.”
"As we commemorate the crucifixion of our Lord on Good Friday, may we reflect on His gift of sacrifice and embrace His enduring lesson of forgiveness.”
"Let us forgive one another and move on in unity." He added
President John Dramani Mahama who have lost two elections on a roll is likely to contest on the ticket of the NDC in the 2024 general election and will face a tougher competition from the NPP's John Alan Kyeremanteng or Alhaji Dr. Bawumia, the vice president of Ghana.
