Kumasi commercial drivers attacked & warned in Bono Region for hanging Asanteman flags in their cars
Some residents of Abesim have reportedly attacked commercial drivers operating between Kumasi and the Bono Ahafo corridor in the Bono Region for displaying Asanteman flags on their vehicles.
According to one of the affected drivers who spoke with KessbenOnline, the incident occurred when they arrived at Abesim.
He explained that some residents chased them, issued threats, and sternly warned that they did not want to see any Asanteman flags hanging in commercial vehicles within the Bono Region.
The drivers described the situation as frightening and unprovoked, noting that the flags are symbols of cultural identity and unity, not provocation.
They have since expressed concern over their safety and called on regional authorities and security agencies to intervene to prevent further attacks.
This has happened before which led to vehicles from the area being banned from using the Race Course and Adhyeman stations in Kumasi.
