'I have stopped impregnating women anyhow' — 2Face Idibia

Veteran Nigerian music icon Innocent “2Face” Idibia, widely known as 2Baba, recently took a rare moment during a live appearance to reflect openly on his personal life and long-running public narrative.

Speaking before a performance at the MC EdoPikin Undiluted with StarBoy and Legends show in Benin City, he told the audience that he has consciously ended his pattern of fathering children casually or “anyhow,” a lifestyle that has followed him for years due to relationships with multiple partners and numerous children. According to the singer, this candid confession was not for entertainment but rather a way to set the record straight about who he is today.

In his own words (in Pidgin English), he said something along the lines of:

“I don stop to dey do that kind of thing. I don stop to dey give belle anyhow. I swear, ask anybody now, they will tell you that I’m innocent.”

2Baba’s remarks come after decades in the spotlight — an era in which his relationships and fatherhood with several women were often in public view. With seven children from five different women and a highly publicized marriage and recent separation from Annie Macaulay-Idibia, his personal life has generated significant discussion and debate. By declaring that he has stopped engaging in that behavior, he described himself as a changed man who is now focused on his music, personal growth, and clearing up misconceptions about his character.

The singer’s announcement elicited mixed reactions online, with fans and commentators weighing in on his past and present choices. Some have applauded his candidness and self-reflection, while others have debated whether his statement marks a genuine transformation or simply a new chapter in his storied life. Regardless of the reactions, 2Baba’s declaration about ending his previous lifestyle has added a fresh dimension to conversations about fame, personal accountability, and public perception in celebrity culture.
