Captain of Ghana's Black Stars Andre Ayew has reacted to the Black Stars performance after Ghana's elimination from the ongoing world cup in Qatar.
Speaking to journalists after Ghana's 0-2 defeat to Uruguay in the last group stage game of group H , a game that Ghana only need a draw to secure a spot in the round 16 stage of the competition Andre Ayew expressed his disappointment in how the team's poor performance led to Ghana's elimination.
According to Ayew Ghana's most capped footballer with over 110 caps for Ghana, the team had the opportunity to get to the next round of the tournament through a penalty he miss, a difficult situation to come to terms with but will have to cope with.
Talk about the future, the 33years old footballer who is nearing the end of his footballing career stated that he is very optimistic for the future as Ghana looks for the participating in the next AFCON tournament slated for Cote D'Ivoire in 2024.
“We had the opportunity to get to the next stage…I missed the penalty..it’s difficult to take..we did not get it right..I am very optimistic for the future
