Award winning Ghanaian highlife/afrobeat artist KiDi has said that his dream is to collaborate with Daddy Lumba on a song.
According to the ‘touch it’ singer, he has a song ready and has told his team to work around the clock to make his feature with the legendary singer happen.
“I have a song that I’ve told my team that this song will never come out until I have Daddy Lumba on it.”
The reigning artist of the year pleaded, “Daddy, with all due respect, I want to have you on that song.”
Sharing why he wants the highlife legend on his song, Kidi explained that Daddy Limba is his father’s favourite artist.
“Daddy Lumba is my dad’s favourite artist growing up. I would play his songs every morning. I can sing a lot of his songs.”
When asked if his team has approached Daddy Lumba, KiDi responded, “I was supposed to meet him at a show at the National Theatre, but I left earlier. I don’t want our conversation to be on the phone. I want to meet him in person and tell him, ‘ Daddy, I want you on a song’. I want to meet the greatest musician.”
KiDi is out with a new song, ‘Blessed’, featuring Mavado.
