Black Stars head coach Carlos Queiroz has unveiled a 23-man squad for Ghana’s upcoming international friendly against Mexico later this month, blending talent from the domestic league, Europe, and the country’s U-23 setup.
The selection features a mix of experienced internationals and emerging prospects as Ghana continues preparations for upcoming competitive fixtures and Olympic Games qualifier.
Among the headline inclusions is Majeed Ashimeru, who makes a return to the national team after a lengthy spell on the sidelines due to a muscle injury that disrupted both his club and international campaigns.
Also named are Felix Afena-Gyan and Razak Simpson of Nations FC, alongside Birmingham City midfielder Ibrahim Osman.
The squad also sees the inclusion of Abdul Aziz Issah from FC Barcelona Atlètic, Ebenezer Annan of AS Saint-Étienne, Ibrahim Osman of Birmingham City, and Paul Reverson, who represents AFC Ajax at youth level.
In midfield, Salim Adams—who has been a standout performer for Ghana Premier League leaders Medeama SC—leads the contingent of home-based players. He is joined by Ebenezer Abban of Heart of Lions, Ebenezer Adade of Dreams FC, and Simpson, who also captains Nations FC.
The Black Stars are scheduled to travel to Mexico ahead of the friendly on Friday, May 22, 2026, as Queiroz continues to assess his squad depth ahead of future international assignments.
