Helicopter Crash at Tema Claims Two Lives.




  Two people have been confirmed dead following a helicopter crash at Tema Community One in the Greater Accra Region on Monday, March 16, 2026.

The incident occurred at the Oninku Drive School Park near the central business district, causing panic among residents and nearby school authorities. According to reports, the aircraft crashed shortly after 2:00 pm, bursting into flames upon impact. 


Emergency response teams, including personnel from the Ghana National Fire Service and the Ghana Police Service, quickly arrived at the scene to contain the fire and retrieve the bodies of the victims. 


Authorities confirmed that there were two occupants on board the aircraft at the time of the crash, and both lost their lives. Fortunately, no injuries were recorded among students or residents in the area despite the crash occurring near a school compound. 


The Ghana Civil Aviation Authority has indicated that investigations are underway to determine the exact cause of the crash. Temporary reports suggest the aircraft was flying from Ho to Accra before losing contact with air traffic control.    


Residents described the crash as a frightening experience and called for improved safety measures.
