Manhyia Palace denies involvement in Daddy Lumba’s funeral arrangements

The Manhyia Palace has cautioned the public to ignore reports attempting to link the royal institution to the burial and funeral arrangements of renowned highlife musician Charles Kwadwo Fosu, popularly known as Daddy Lumba.

In a statement issued on Thursday, December 11, 2025, the Palace stressed that it has no involvement in any ongoing preparations for the late artist’s funeral.

It further urged Ghanaians to rely only on accurate and verified information to avoid misinformation.

The clarification follows circulating reports suggesting the Palace’s participation in arrangements for the musician’s burial—claims officials have dismissed as false and misleading.

The development comes amid an ongoing disagreement between Daddy Lumba’s immediate family and extended relatives over the appropriate date for his burial.

The family of the late legend has already rejected a widely circulated funeral date of December 13, 2025, describing it as unauthorised.

The Manhyia administration warned that media reports linking the Palace to the matter risk creating confusion and misunderstanding.

It therefore called on the public to disregard such claims and avoid spreading unverified information that could escalate tensions surrounding the musician’s funeral arrangements.
