MY TWO CENTS ON WORAWORA - An Open Letter To My Uncle And Family Back Home.
To the glory of God , founders and ancestors of my dearest hometown WORAWORA , all things being equal we will have a new Paramount Chief called Nana Yaw Saforo Baah III.
He is an engineer ,entrepreneur and a small business owner who is clearly interested in the development of WORAWORA.
As we continue to hope for the best of the town, my little prayer is that my uncle will follow in the footsteps of some of the great men who have led the town in the past ie his interest will just be in key decisions that will benefit the town in the nearest future but also key decisions that will benefit the town in 100s of years to come.
My biggest headache aside the WORAWORA Traditional Council recognizing and taking advantage of being an important member of the Asanteman council to the benefit of the community is the seemingly unorganized nature of WORAWORA. The vacuum of last decade has created something that has led to foreigners taking over WORAWORA lands and renaming them. A classical example is the alleged name of place in WORAWORA called ‘NUMBER Two’ , Adaaka[hope i get it right] now called ‘Infant’ . I believe this is how encroachment and land disputes starts .
Hopefully when the dust settles after swearing allegiance to the sacred sika dwa of Asanteman and his Chieftaincy declaration form is signed and gazetted by the national house of chiefs I hope and pray the matter will be looked into and Gyamerakrom will be Gyamerakrom because a certain Opanin Gyamera risk his life to settle there when no one dared, Odumase will continue to be Odumase and Worawora Zongo will also continue to WORAWORA zongo.
As for development and education, it is non negotiable because if in the 1950s WORAWORA could boast of people like T.A Asare, Dr Fred Oppong et al what stops now?
Hopefully the WORAWORA government hospital expansion project will take place soon. Worasec will not be the highest level of educational institution in WORAWORA but there will be a tertiary education school there and the inner town roads will be fixed. It is possible because I believe in the vision of my uncle and the communal spirit of the people Worawora .
