Ghana's recent intermittent power outages have become a national issue as Ghanaians in many ways have expressed their dissatisfaction with the problem the Electricity Company Of Ghana(ECG), Ghana Grid Company Limited(GRIDco) and government describe as one caused by the maintenance and works on the various stations of the electricity providers.
Whiles some Ghanaians have decided not to say anything about the problem they call 'DUMSOR', some have also run to the media to publicly air their inability to accept what is currently happening . Others who also have access to social media have also shared how the power outages are making life uncomfortable for them and among these people is celebrated Ghanaian media practitioner and entrepreneur Deloris Frimpong Manso popularly called Delay.
In a series of tweets, the hard working Ghanaian who is known for the Delay Show a Tv show that has aired on Tv for more that 10 years and many others said she felt embarrassed disturbing her neighbors with the noise from her generator anytime there was 'dumsor'.
According to Delay , a former employ of the Honourable Kennedy Agyapong, the intermittent power outages leaves her sleepless after a busy days . In some of her tweets , the frustrated Delay wrote;
" I have a busy day today and the dumsor won’t let me sleep. Asem Ben koraa ni eeiiiiii. I try to sleep then dum, then sor and I feel embarrassed disturbing my neighbors with the noise of the generator. I want to cry mpo."
With the intermittent power outages expected to be over by July of 2021 according to a report sighted by kgnewsonline.com, #YourNo1NewsHub, there is a general willingness and commitment by all stakeholders in the electricity sector to work fervently to reduce the impact it will have on customers in the country.
