"Fare thee well" - Asantehene pays tribute to JJ Rawlings

 

The death of Ghana's ex-president Ft. Lt. Jerry John Rawlings has drawn a lot of condolence and tributes from people across the world.

Some notable people who have shared heartfelt messages on the passing on of the late Ghanaian ruler are President Akufo-Addo who described the death of JJ Rawlings as a tragic event, Liberia's President George Weah in a post on his recounted how Rawlings' immense contribution helped Liberia during the civil war.

In a short tribute by the Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu ii , the King of the Asante Kingdom who describes JJ Rawlings as his brother in the book of condolences signed on 20|11|20  wrote:

" Agyewodin, Fare thee well,my president and brother. "

 

The late Ft Lt. Jerry John Rawlings' tragic death occurred at 10:10 am of 12th November,2020 at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital where he was receiving treatment after a short illness.
