Social Media users lambast CK Akonnor and Black Stars' poor performance against Mali

Ghanaian social media users have reacted to what they describe as a poor performance of Ghana's Black Stars in a friendly match against west African neighbors.

The Black Stars who lost 3 goals to null to it's Malian counterparts  received a lot of criticism from Ghanaians who were of the views that Ghana deserved a lot from the team who have being chasing the African Cup Of Nation for almost four decades now.

Blaming the coach, CK Akonnor , some notable Ghanaians like Chief Seidu Adamu, an outspoken sports journalist and editor of 442gh.com have questioned the rational behind the ex-Black Stars captain's decision to call players playing for second division team in europe. Using CK Akonnor's statement of his Ghana team playing like the Black Stars of 1978, criticized his tactics, player selection and even his coaching CV stating that first black football to captain a German club is an amateur .

Those who took on the players on the field also criticized the sloppy attitude of the players stating that most of them were roasted by the Malians.

@flexkgermain:CK Akunnor should rather be the assistant coach of the black stars, he has no track record to be handed the main job, his CV is too amateur. Black stars shouldn’t be a place for experiment. We are hungry for success.

@chiefseiduadamu:In 1978, no member of the Black Stars were playing in Second Division

@anaman_osagyefo:Poor exercise ! RB Leipzig’s Amadou Haidara bosses the show as Black Stars stumble 3-0 to the Eagles of Mali in an international friendly . CK Akunnor has got a lot of work to do.

@ankamagyimi:Before Black Stars will play our friendly match I want CK Akonnor to come out for us to talk I haven’t forgotten what he said about Partey’s move to Arsenal. He should come out for us to talk

@sarkcessful:National team wey your captain plays in the championship. Smh Dede Ayew wasa tu

@thursday_borne: Dede Ayew has done more clapping for the Black Stars than charismatic churches in Gh have done

@kmorroko:Almost every Ghanaian liked CK Akunnor until he made that unfortunate comment abt partey’s move to Arsenal. Inviting unnecessary pressure on himself kwa

@oscarnuwati:A Covid 19 plaque, a depleted Mali side without their captain self u can’t beat yet you have the guts and effrontery to advice Thomas Partey not to join Arsenal. Herrrr Ck Akunnor can you coach the black stars ?

@gyaigyimii :If you feel sad just know someone somewhere has staked 1000 cedis on the black stars.

@chairman_gen: Black stars coaches need to give serious hungry local players chance. These so called senior stars brings nothing to the table. Absolutely nothing. The Ayew brothers have done their part. Others need that chance too
