Information gathered by kgnewsonline is that, the Chief Executive Officer of Kumasi-based Asante Kotoko Sporting Club, Nana Yaw Amponsah in his policy to transform the club is planning to establish a women's football team.
According to source, the decision to set up a women's football team is as a result of the porcupine warriors wanting to extend their reach after the content's football governing body, CAF announced it's decisions to organize the AFRICAN WOMEN'S CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP, a competition for female clubs on the african continent.
With clubs like Egypt's Al Ahly SC and South Africa's Mamelodi Sundowns already running female football teams , the two times CAF Champions League winners, Asante Kotoko SC are at the crossroad on whether they would now adopt Kumasi-based Fabulous Ladies as it's female team as advised by the Ghana Football Association president Mr. Kurt Okraku or start a female football team from the scratch.
