Tic Tac Sues Wizkid For 'Stealing' His Song

Legendary Ghanaian rapper Tic Tac now Tic has sued Nigerian pop singer Wizkid over a copyright infringement as the 'Philomina' hitmaker claims the BET award winner,  Wizkid sampled the chorus of his hit single ‘Fefe Ne Efe’ in his verse on DJ Tunez’s song titled ‘Gbese’.

According to reports, Tic and Tony Tetuila co-owner are jointly seeking for damages worth millions of naira 35% of revenues accrued from ‘Gbese’.

‘As a matter of fact, the lawyers are working on it. There has been some discussions. We are on it.’, Tic said in an interview.

The ‘Kwani Kwani’ hitmaker also disclosed that Wizkid’s team had proposed a settlement fee but he felt the amount they mentioned was not enough.

‘If they don’t pay of course I will sue them. There has been a lot of discussions going on….some figures mentioned but, there is some things going on’ , he added.

Tic released his ‘Fefe Ne Efe’ tune featuring Tony Tetuila in 2004.
In May 2019, DJ Tunez featured Wizkid and Blaqjerzee on his song titled ‘Gbese’.

Wizkid sampled Tic’s ‘Fefe Ne Efe’ song as he delivered the chorus on DJ Tunez’s smash hit tune.

Wizkid once said that he was inspired by Tic while pursuing his music career as a young boy and it seems Tic will not be lured by this statement as he intends to take legal action against the Afrobeat star.
