"Asamoah Gyan Is A Good Player But.." - Kwesi Appiah Explains His Tactics


Coach of Ghana's Black Stars, James kwesi Appiah has revealed why he has decided to bench Asamoah Gyan at the ongoing African Cup Of Nations tournament in Egypt. 

Speaking at the post match conference of Ghana's second game at the 24 team tournament, the 1983 cup winner and now coach of Ghana said Asamoah Gyan, a proven goal scorer is a good player but a coach of the team he knows the needs of his team and Ghana's all time top scorer doesn't fit in his plans to command a place in his starting eleven. 

" Asamoah Gyan is a good player, but I'm a coach with the ability to judge the needs of my team and the players I need", Kwesi Appiah said. 
Speaking about his teams performance against the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon, Kwesi  Appiah, a former captain of the Black Stars and Kumasi Asante Kotoko S.C added that his team missed a lot of chances and were very close to winning the match that ended in a goalless draw. 

"We did our best and missed a lot of chances and we were close to winning ", Kwesi Appiah who is expected to lead Ghana's Black Stars end a 37 years trophy drought said.
